William Lester “Bill” Jacobs, age 66, of Dunnsville, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from esophageal cancer.
Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda P. Jacobs; two sons, William L. Jacobs, Jr. (Brandy) of Virginia Beach, and Matthew L. Jacobs (Ashley) of Providence Forge; his mother, Rose A. Jacobs of Kissimmee, Florida; a sister, Beverly Campbell (Thom) of Kissimmee, Florida; three grandchildren, Haley C. Jacobs, William Henry Branton Jacobs and Lillianna V. Jeter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter H. Jacobs, and a sister, Claudette Ullmann.
Retired, Bill had been an employee of the Department of Conservation and Recreation for over 40 years. Throughout the years, he had many unique experiences as he worked and lived in various Virginia State Parks throughout the Commonwealth. He enjoyed outdoor activities throughout his life, particularly camping, fishing, hunting, surfing and spur-of-the-moment road trips. He also found great pleasure in photography, woodworking and spending time with family.
Bill will be missed by his family, but they will be comforted by many wonderful memories and by Bill's own heartfelt acknowledgement of having had a good life, well-lived.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
