Obituary for Elbert Anthony "Tony" Withers

Elbert Anthony “Tony” Withers, 55, of Callao, ended his journey here on Earth to spread his wings on January 12, 2018 while surrounded by family and friends at home. Born to Irving A. Withers and Lois King Withers, July 22, 1962 in Richmond, VA. Tony was a lifelong resident of the Northern Neck.

He is survived by his mother; his two sons Irving Anthony Withers (Jennifer) and Shane William Withers; his daughter Lorrie Withers Stokes (Rodney Sr.); brothers Mitch Withers (Paige) and Rodney Withers; his sister Teresa “T.T.” Withers; and his half-sister Misty Beauchamp. Tony leaves with us his beloved grandchildren Amanda Lynn Stokes, Rodney “R.J.” Stokes, Jr., Aleigha Rose Withers, and Ava Lorraine Withers; nephews Brandon Withers, Garrett Withers, Jesse Gordon, Jr. (Dee Dra), Jasen Lewis; and niece Dawn Taylor (Eric). Tony was predeceased by his father.

Tony was most recently employed as a mechanic at Wood Preservers in Warsaw, but for many years prior to that he and his father owned and operated Withers Logging in Callao.

The family welcomes all to share in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Cobham Park Baptist Church in Warsaw, VA. A reception will immediately follow the service, visit www.welchfuneralhomeva.com for furtherinformation.
