Nellie F. Self was born in Sharps, Virginia on February 13, 1929 and passed away in Richmond, Virginia on September 23, 2017.
She was a life member of Jerusalem Baptist Church, Emmerton, Virginia and regularly attended First Baptist Church, Richmond Virginia. Nellie was a graduate of Farnham High School and Smithdeal Massey Business College. Nellie was employed by Royal Typewriter Company for 35 years and retired in 2002 from Douglas Southall Freeman High School with 18 years of service. She was a member of the Richmond Women's Association and long-time bowler with the West End Women's League.
Preceded in death by her parents Frank H. and Grace S. Self, sister Margaret S. Sanders, brother L. Francis Self and infant sister Annie L. Self. She is survived by several cousins.
Visitation will be at Jerusalem Baptist Church Emmerton, Virginia beginning at 10 A.M. with funeral services following at 11 A.M. on Thursday September 28, 2017 with pastor Neale Schools officiating assisted by pastor Kenny Park. Burial to follow in Farnham Baptist Church Cemetery, Farnham, Virginia.
