Condolence: Mr. Walker, our U. S. history teacher at W & L in 1958-59, was a gentleman in every sense of the word. He loved the students and even more he loved coaching. He taught respect and good sportsmanship. Talking with Bob, I knew he had been sick for sometime and he and Barbara were in my prayers. God has taken him home but our memories of him and the inspiration he was in our lives will last forever. My condolences to Barbara and the family. Condolence: A true idol that was rightly worshiped by the hundreds of athletes that he coached. Always a gentleman in a loss, though he did not experience many. He will always be remembered fondly by those of us that played under him both for his coaching ability and for his friendship.
Barbara, mom always said that you were one of the lucky few that got to marry and live your life with the man of your dreams. I know you will miss him, but know that you were the best thing that ever happened to him.
