Condolence: The news of Rosa's passing hit me pretty hard last night as the memories came flooding back. She wrote Greg and I the nicest letter about Mom and Dad after Mom died, and she was a wonderful friend to them, to me, and many others. Of course, I'll never forget her catching Sue's bouquet at our wedding. Rosa was strong, intelligent, witty, caring, giving, and of course, made the best rolls ever. I remember her giving me a couple dozen one time and apologizing as she thought they were not some of her best. Well, I sampled most of them and if there was anything wrong with them, I sure couldn't tell. They were simply the best. Thinking about these things this morning, and reading Greg's condolences, has reminded me again of what a wonderful community and church we grew up in. Love and peace to you Lloyd W, Lucy, Margaret and Ellen. Rosa and Junior were special people.

Condolence: Rosa was a wonderful influence in my early life. She was almost solely responsible for all the fund raisers that for end the basis for the building the gym at old Cople School. That gym was used for high school basketball games for Washington and Lee until the gym was build at W&L and opened in 1966. Rosa organized and served as my Cub Scout Pack leader. Also, I spent many pleasurable days playing baseball, basketball and football at "Rosa and Junior's" , However, maybe my fondest memories of Rosa were the great rolls she used to make. As my brother, Art, said, Now that Rosa and Mary V are gone, who will make the rolls? She was one of my mom's bridesmaids and Junior, along with his brother Frank and Mott Sanford from across the road were my Dad's best friends. They are all missed.
