Dolores Marie Sanford Day, age 92, of Live Oak, FL, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Dowling Park, FL.
Dolores grew up in Silver Spring, MD, spending memorable summers in Templeman’s Cross Roads, Westmoreland County, VA, with her beloved great aunt and grandmother. She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School and attended the University of South Carolina, becoming a lifetime member of Phi Beta Phi.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Leslie Day Hanson (Mel), of High Ridge, MO, and Ann Day Branham of Live Oak, FL, and a granddaughter, Amanda Marie Branham, of Memphis, TN. Additionally, she is survived by a brother Emmons M. Sanford, Jr., Aurora, CO, and two nephews, William Montgomery Sanford, of Oceanside, CA and Philip Carey Sanford, of Lewiston, CO.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Nomini Baptist Church, Montross, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, P.O. Box 2000, Boys Ranch, FL 32064 or the Arthritis Foundation National Office, 1355 Peachtree St NE, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA, 30309.
