The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edith Williams can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Edie was one of the first public school Finance Directors that I met almost 29 years ago. We shared both professional and personal challenges and triumphs and on occasion rides to conferences. She often shared stories of her daughters and grand children with great pride. Rest in peace.

Condolence: As a fellow school business official, I owe a debt of gratitude to Mrs. Edie Williams. She mentored many of us in the profession and we are all better off because of her tireless efforts on behalf of the children of the Commonwealth. Thank-you Edie on behalf of your friends in VASBO. You made quite a difference. To your family and friends, thank-you for sharing Edie with us. She will be missed.

Condolence: Edie and I were good friends in high school at Notre Dame in Clarksburg, WV. Unfortunately we lost touch over the years, but we were able to reconnect 10 years ago at our 40th reunion. A few years ago, she visited me in my home when she was in town. She brought me a lovely bracelet which I cherish. I remember a vibrant teenager who loved marching band, theater productions, and roller skating. As you can imagine, she excelled at all of those things. Rest in peace, my friend.

Condolence: Edie was more than a friend, she was family. She touched the lives of so many people; her reach was far spread. She embraced life with zest and determination.

Being with Edie was always an adventure. She could spot a yard sale from a mile away. She had the ability of a bloodhound when it came to finding "deals". Her sense of humor was infectious and her laugh was legendary.

Edie was loving and compassionate. She was thoughtful and attentive. If you were lucky enough to be included in her circle, she never let you forget just how very much she loved you.
