Erma Hardy Gallagher , age 94, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2016. She was born in New Jersey on August 15, 1922 to Myron and Myrtle Hardy.
She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Parr (Billy), Melody Craig (Dale), Pat Thrift (Gregory), and Cathy Belanger (Rod); ten grandchildren, Robert Vaughn, Steven Vaughn, Kimberly Gripshover, James Packett, Courtney Craig, Lisa Rouse, Susan Chandler, Carol Rothenberger, Michael Belanger, and Terri Belanger; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren A. Gallagher.
Erma belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Homemakers Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, and was a faithful member of Virginia Casey's Bible Study for many years. Erma loved to talk and make others laugh. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She was totally devoted to family all of her life.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Warsaw Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Candine E. Johnson and Rev. Leslie Park officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel, Warsaw, Virginia.
