Virginia Robinson Jones, age 89, passed away on June 15, 2016. She was born on July 20, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Elnora Thorne and Colie Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Jones, her son, Ronnie Jones, and three brothers, Hugh Robinson, Leland Robinson and Maston Robinson.

Virginia was a charter member of New Friendship Baptist Church and a member of Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Northumberland County Rescue Squad. Virginia retired in 2002 after thirty years as a Northumberland County bus driver.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Jones of Montross and a sister Addie B. Barrette of Rhode Island.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at New Friendship Baptist Church, 13559 Northumberland Highway, Burgess with Pastor Tom Rice officiating.
