Margaret “Peggy” Baldwin Lubeley, 94, passed away at The Orchard in Warsaw, Virginia on Saturday, February 13, 2016.
Mrs. Lubeley, the daughter of Nathaniel Baldwin and Nell James Baldwin, was born in 1921 in Fort Valley, GA. She was a graduate of Fort Valley High School in 1939 and in 1942 received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Georgia State College for Women. During World War II, she served as a WAVE in the Navy, stationed at Norfolk, Virginia.
Mrs. Lubeley and her late husband, Jeremiah Lubeley, were longtime residents of Vienna, Virginia. A retired teacher, Mrs. Lubeley taught for many years in the Catholic School system of Northern Virginia (St. Thomas More and St. Philip’s). She was a volunteer at St. Mark Catholic Church. Mrs. Lubeley served as President of the Sultanas, a service organization dedicated to assisting the intellectually challenged.
She is servived by her children, Michael Lubeley (Gail White) of Alexandria, Jan Schuler (Hal), Mark Lubeley (Whitney Cummings) of Vienna, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lubeley (2004) and her son, Don Paul (1954).
